We need to stop throwing away our eggshells ASAP.
What should we do with them instead? Well eat them of course! Eggshells are a great source of calcium because they are 95% calcium carbonate. According to Business Insider a single chicken eggshell can contain about 2 grams of calcium which is 2 to 4 times the daily recommended value.
So of course we can't have you just going and eating the eggshells right out of the carton. Once you get rid of the yolk, you have to put the shells in boiling water to kill off any bacteria. Then you should bake them at 200 degrees fahrenheit for about 10-15 minutes.
Once they're done you should grind them into a fine powder, which has been proven to reduce pain and bone loss in women with senile osteoporosis! Then you can add this powder to foods like pizza dough, bread even spaghetti.
Wow sounds delicious right?!
