It's no secret that Sam Hunt's album Montevallo was inspired by his on-again, off-again relationship with his now wife Hannah.
Of course, not every song he writes is a literal translation of their relationship, but he says she inspires him to be a better songwriter.
"From a musical standpoint she inspires me to pick up the guitar and write and then try to do a good job of it writing these songs. She absolutely still inspires me in that way."
Writing songs inspired by Hannah doesn't always win Sam points in the romance department. He tells Hits Daily Double that she doesn't think he's very romantic. “From a candlelight-and-dinner place, not particularly. But in terms of interacting and engaging, how I listen and try to communicate… I love making her feel wanted and sexy and safe, all those things. I’m romantic like that."
