Wheeling Heritage pushing for an extension on distinction as National Heritage Area

WHEELING, W.Va. —A local organization has been named in bipartisan federal legislation.

Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore-Capito, as well as Representatives David McKinley and Carol Miller, proposed the legislation that would extend Wheeling Heritage's authorization as a National Heritage Area for the next 15 years.

An extension would mean the group would remain eligible for grants, funding, and technical assistance. Read More
