Several roads affected by flooding in Belmont County
BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —Several roads were closed in Belmont County as a result of flooding brought on by the remnants of Hurricane Ida.
Even though the water dropped for much of the day, it remained a concern into Wednesday evening.
Wheeling Creek from Barton to Bridgeport rose quickly and came up over its banks in several spots, including Barton-Crescent Road.
The high water led to the closure of the road.
"We have Barton-Crescent Road blocked off right now, in addition to Majors Road and Jug Run Road due to the flooding issues. People have had to call off work, it's just chaos for everybody," said Andrew Gazdik of the Barton Fire Department. Read More
