Late-Night Hosts Remember Aretha Franklin

Once our show broke that Aretha Franklin passed away at 76-years-old from pancreatic cancer yesterday morning, that evening, late-night hosts honored the 'Queen of Soul' in their shows.

In the video above, Trevor Noah from, The Daily Show, who was in "between the scenes," noted that Aretha's passing has been "rough on a lot of people." He listened to Franklin's music as a kid and had an immense love for her soulful tunes. Noah praised her for being a trailblazer during the Martin Luther King Jr. era and fighting for what she believed in.

Meanwhile, on The Tonight Show, Ariana Grande, sang her heart out to Aretha's 1967 single, "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," with the house band, The Roots, playing around her.

Host Jimmy Fallon took a moment to recognize Franklin saying, "We loved Aretha. She was a fan of late night back when no one was watching us."

Ariana, who grew to having a friendship with the soul singer, described meeting her as "so sweet" and "so cute."

Check out Ariana Grande and The Roots' entire tribute to the 'Queen of Soul,' below.
