There are a few things scarier than getting in trouble with the cops.
Having the cops call your mom to tell them you've been speeding is one of them.
Apparently, the police department in Haymarket, Virginia understands this fear because they now have signs threatening to "call your mom" if you are caught driving over the speed limit.
It's very rare that the light up signs catches a drivers eye. But these messages were too hard to miss.
“Slow down or…” Then, it switches to: “…we will call your mom.”
WOW.
What a threat.
That is the last thing you want.
Get the ticket, pay your fine, but no one wants their mom to know.
The Haymarket Police Department had some fun with these signs and posted them to their Facebook.
It was obviously a hit, but they still wanted the message to be clear.
Slow down drivers.
