WATCH: G.S. Coach Steve Kerr Sounds Off In Wake Of Texas School Shooting

Nineteen children and two adults were shot and killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde,. Texas Tuesday afternoon by an 18 year old gunman who was ultimately shot dead by responding officers.

The gunman, identified as Salvador Ramos, a student at Uvalde High School, is also accused of shooting his own grandmother in another location before he found his way to the elementary school, gained entry before indiscriminately opening fire on the victims.

One of the adults killed was a fourth grade teacher who had been an educator for 17 years. Ramos is believed to have barricaded himself inside the school and met responding officers with gunfire. He was ultimately shot dead. This is the deadliest school shooting in the U.S. since the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy in December, 2012.

The tragedy prompted Golden State Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr to use his routine, pre-game news conference before Game-4 of the Western Conference Finals against Dallas to take Senators to task for failing to vote on pending legislation he says would require universal background checks for gun purchases.
