Girls Raise Over $20K For Camp Mystic Flood Relief With Lemonade Stand

After the devastating flash floods in Texas, a group of girls in Lubbock organized a lemonade stand fundraiser to help.

The idea came from 14-year-old Charlotte Fischenich, who, along with some friends and her four younger sisters, prepared lemonade, bracelets, bookmarks, cookies, and goodie bags to sell.

They squeezed 300 lemons, used 20 pounds of sugar, and crafted signs and snacks.

The event took place in the Fischenich’s neighborhood, where community members brought tents, chairs, and even a cotton candy machine.

The girls ran the stand themselves, greeting customers, tallying purchases, and serving treats.

Despite some rain delays, they drew long lines and generous donations, raising over $17,000 during the event and another $5,000 from continued donations.

Twins Corrigan and Cannon Camp from Fort Worth also joined the effort, running their own stand and raising over $5,000 in one day.

Camp Mystic parents praised the initiative for giving the girls purpose and helping to heal during a tragic time.

The campers credit the spirit of Camp Mystic for inspiring them to lead with compassion.
