In New Haven, Connecticut, three high school students are using their sports trading card hobby to support pediatric cancer research.
Jonah Bomback, Peter Klopfer, and Asher Vengrow, who run a venture called Cardz Against Cancer, pledged 50% of their profits and recently donated almost $8,000 to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
Each of the boys has a personal connection to the disease, which motivated their decision to give back while continuing to grow their card-selling business.
The hospital says the funds will help provide care and comfort for families facing a cancer diagnosis, and the students plan to continue donating as their efforts expand.
