CNN Anchor Chris Cuomo Diagnosed With Coronavirus

Chris Cuomo has tested positive for COVID-19.

On Tuesday (March 31), the CNN anchor shared his diagnosis on Twitter, writing, "In these difficult times that seem to get more difficult and complicated by the day, I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus. I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fevers, chills and shortness of breath."

He continued, "I just hope I didn't give it to the kids and [my wife] Cristina. That would make me feel worse than this illness!"

Chris said he is "quarantined in my basement" and will "do my shows from here." Adding, "We will all beat this by being smart and tough and united!"

Chris' brother, New York governor Andrew Cuomo, spoke of his diagnosis in a press conference on Tuesday, saying there was a lesson to be learned from Chris.

"He's an essential worker, the press, so he's been out there. So if you go out there, the chance that you get infected is very high," the governor explained. He went on to discuss Chris' condition, saying, “He is going to be fine. He’s young, in good shape, strong, not as strong as he thinks, but he will be fine."

“I spoke to him this morning, and he’s going to be quarantined in his basement at home,” Andrew added before reflecting on his relationship with his brother. “You see one dimension, you see a person in his job... He’s a really sweet, beautiful guy, and he’s my best friend.”
