On social media recently, some people have been amused by photographs of panty-wearing watermelons. After some investigation, there’s a reason some farmers dress their melons in lingerie, and it’s nothing kinky or perverted…in fact, it’s downright practical. Farmers say the fabric of the panties and teddies allows “the fruit to breathe.” In addition, using the undergarments to “hoist” the melons off the ground keeps them fresh and reduces the risk of rot. Plus, it’s undeniable how sexy the watermelons feel knowing that the farmers think enough of them to dress them up like that.
